Our part time, outdoor kindergarten program, for ages 5-7, builds foundational reading, writing, and math through seasonal outdoor exploration, play, and curiosity.
We deeply believe in the beauty of an unhurried childhood.
We intentionally approach kindergarten at a slower, more intentional pace, while also covering many essential Idaho Early Learning Guidelines and Idaho Kindergarten Content Standards. We prioritize developing the whole child; nurturing their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth, rather than rushing them through academic checklists.
Science, social studies, early literacy, and math are woven naturally into daily learning. Monthly field experiences deepen each area of exploration, connecting their learning of the natural world with local experts and resources.

Together Outdoor Education (TOE) grew out of a simple desire: to offer families a learning environment that honors how children truly learn best. Designed for families seeking something different, TOE combines intentional academics with the freedom of the natural world, giving children space to explore, grow, and thrive without rushing childhood.
Our program is backed by years of diverse experience working with young learners and grounded in our perspective as parents to two children.
Samantha is a credentialed teacher with ten years of education experience and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She designs our intentional, nature-based academic programming. Andrew was raised in a family of educators and brings a background in youth coaching, mentorship, and passion for the outdoors. -
TOE provides an exceptional, small-group outdoor education experience led by a credentialed teacher. Your tuition directly supports quality instruction, rich resources, and real-world learning:
Expert-Led Academics: A custom, fully integrated curriculum incorporating core subject areas.
Monthly Field Trips: Off-site excursions included across programs to extend discovery beyond our daily outdoor classroom.
Included Field Gear (Big TOE): Kindergarten students receive dedicated supplies, including binoculars, local field guides, a personal nature journal and more.

TOE is a great fit for children who:
Enjoy spending time outside in a variety of weather
Actively participate in their learning and play
Follow group expectations and use behavior that supports their own safety and the safety of others in an outdoor setting.
Use the restroom independently
Families who value movement, hands-on learning, and time in nature tend to feel most at home at TOE.
We follow a 1:6 teacher to student ratio.
Because of the outdoor, small-group nature of the program, TOE is not able to provide individualized accommodations for children requiring additional supports.
